The viennoiserie must be oval shaped and presented fresh and whole with a fine, golden crust.
The pastry-type baked good can be made in the department of Vendée, any department in the Loire-Atlantique and Maine-et-Loire or in the department of Charent-Maritime.
Gâche vendéenne’s PGI status was registered by the EC on November 6, 2013.
