BakeryAndSnacks is hosting a panel discussion on how snacks and candy makers can best deal with product recalls at ProSweets in Cologne.

'Dealing with Recalls – Prevention and How to Avoid a PR Disaster for Candy and Snacks’ will take place in the ProSweets Speakers Corner on Tuesday, January 31 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

A new panellist will be joining the lineup of experts taking part in the debate on product recall to be hosted at ProSweets/ISM in Cologne.

Professor Josep Tous will be replacing Farzah Henareh, who unfortunately has unforeseen work commitments.

Tous works at product safety director for Stericycle ExpertSOLUTIONS.

He is also a consultant in consumer affairs and product safety for the United Nations, and a member of the product safety working group of the OECD (Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development).

Additionally, Professor Tous is a visiting professor in consumer protection and consumer product safety at six European universities, including the University of Barcelona, Brunel University, University of Bologna and University of Montpellier.

The other panellists include:

Richard Clarke, director of Ingredient Communications, a global PR agency focussed on communicating the benefits of ingredients for the food and beverage industry.

Stewart Eaton, head of Product Recall, Allianz Global Corporate & Speciality, is qualified to Level 4 in Food Safety in Manufacturing, Level 2 Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points, and a trained media spokesperson.

Simon Weaver, commercial manager for red24’s product risks UK/ROW business unit, a consultancy services that manages product contamination and quality risks effectively.

Hosted by Gill Hyslop, editor, BakeryandSnacks.
