Mondelēz International has collaborated with CMS Bakery Solutions for Cadbury branded doughnuts and muffins.

The UK range includes Cadbury Chocolate Muffin and Cadbury Caramel Muffin; Cadbury Chocolate Doughnut and Cadbury Caramel Doughnut.

The enticement of Cadbury’s

Phil Carrat, strategic partnerships director, Europe at CSM Bakery Solutions, told BakeryandSnacks the inclusion of the popular brand of chocolate “will boost the sector and increase the number of customers buying into it.

“Cadbury is one of Britain’s best loved brands and is worth over £1.2bn ($1.47bn) in the UK alone.

“The fact that Cadbury is so popular is set to drive sales, and increase the value of the sector.  Over 80% of the UK population bought into the brand in the last 12 months and this will reflect in sales of the new range,” he said.

The Cadbury doughnuts and muffins, which are being manufactured in CSM’s facility in Wirral, UK (which celebrated it centenary last year), will be available from April through wholesalers.

Headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, CSM Bakery Solutions provides specialised ingredients and finished products to customers in over 100 countries worldwide.

The company began as a domestic sugar processing company in The Netherlands, founded in 1919 as Centrale Suiker Maatschappij (Central Sugar Company).

Today, has global footprint with 34 manufacturing facilities, 26 distribution centers, four innovation centers of excellence and employs over 8,500 staff.

Its plethora of heritage bakery brands include Arkady, Craigmillar, Readi-Bake, Baker & Baker and Kate’s Cakes, among several others.

New taste, new look

The Cadbury muffins will be packaged in branded muffin cases, and free Cadbury branded paper cups will be distributed with every case of doughnuts for bigger display awareness.

"They are set to appeal to men and women across a number of different age groups,” Carrat told us, noting that they will can be eaten anytime of the day, “from breakfast through to a mid-afternoon treat.”

National Doughnut Week

Cadbury doughnuts will be released in time for National Doughnut Week, sponsored by CSM Bakery Solutions, from May 7-13. During that week, bakers, cafes and coffee shops across the UK will be raising funds for The Children’s Trust charity.
